Dvořák’s ten colourful and dramatic Legends, less well known than the Slavonic Dances, exist in both orchestral and piano-duet form, but have not previously been available for wind orchestra. It is not usual to perform all ten together and they don’t seem intended as a cycle. Any one of them stands happily alone, and No.2 features the cor anglais.
